If we assume:

1 nm = 1852 m
g = 9.80665 m/s**2
rho (air density) = 1.225 kg/m**3

then the difference in level of the water columns in millimetres is
given by

h = 0.01654 V**2

where V is in knots. (I am using ** to indicate ¨raising to the power¨)
For example at 160 kt we find

0.01654x160x160 = 423 mm
