It is quite plausible that I could write an Excel based wing loading calculator.
Inputs would be: - glider polar at a known wing loading (it would be possible to include a library of known types) - Thermal core velocity - Thermal diameter - Thermal spacing (? Not sure if this is actually necessary) Initial thermal values could be for Aust handicap model values if I can find definitive numbers. Outputs would be: - Graph of estimated cross country speed versus wing loading The main problem is I don't have the time at the moment to develop it right now.
