Given two gliders flying each at 60 knots approaching head on at an initial distance of 200m apart gives a time to collision of 3.2 secs. No time to react (i.e. from the time you see the threat, time to realise you are going to hit, time to operate the flight controls, time for aircraft to respond). Sadly it would seem that the disco ball is no good. That's not too useful... >-( At the risk of offending someone...
