I disagree. Captain and First Officer still take full legal responsibility for their actions and decisions when operating a flight. How they handle difficult situations, and how they perform in their 6-monthly sim checks, has more to do with job retention and promotion. Pam Kurstjens

He also has 5000 hours in Canberras and other interesting military stuff, but the rest is pretty straight.
