It's only a matter of time before some GA aircraft or helicopter takes out a hang glider on the coast. The HG sites are clearly marked on charts, yet GA aircraft cruise around the headlands near Sydney at 200' right where the PG and HG gliders are flying. I had a very near miss… perhaps 200 metres, with a helicopter at 260' over Warriewood headland a few years ago. On the other hand, all the RAAF pilots, even though they may fly below, are a safe distance off and have always given a wing waggle to indicate that they are looking out and have seen the other aircraft. This is both on the coast and at inland sites.
