By reductio ad absurdum then SWER lines should be banned and restricted too (I think more chopper pilots have died/been injured at the hands of SWER lines than colliding with winch cables). As part of pre-flight, pilots should consult the charts and NOTAMs. Winch sites are clearly marked on VNC and ERC low, TAC, with the warning in the legend about cables extending up from the ground. Any overflying pilot who is arrogant enough to think that avoiding winch cables does not apply to him should think again.
