Bernard,
As a Scheicher owner and customer of yours I must comment on the JS1.

Although I agree they may have "borrowed" some design points, the wing and some of the glider is original.
They perform well and seem to be finely built.
From what I have heard about certification they have done it all to the new European standards, in fact as one of only two gliders in the world that this is so![the other being ASH30] As you know the ASG29 is grandfathered on the 27, Schemmp Discus2 is grandfathered on the OLD Discus!!!

I think EASA is a crock of shit!

AFAIK the internal structure of the JS1 fuselage is new, the outer mold lines are ASH26E. It really is a no no to flop mold somebody else's design. Probably doesn't matter for a one off Experimental but it does if you are going to produce it in series. A friend of mine used to make fiberglass canoes, kayaks and small boats. He knew this back in the early 1970s.

An example of the new EASA crazy maintenance regs:

I was having an email interchange with a customer in the UK recently. He had earwigs in the TE line so he disconnected the 4 way Winter pneumatic connector, blew them out and reconnected it as his maintenance engineer was walking by. The engineer told him he needed an engineers signature to re connect the Winter device. They can't even be put back together the wrong way.
