Hi Jennifer,
Your correct. Click on the "Projects" tab. Scroll down till you see
the section "Helping users" there you will find the Documentation
Project. Click on the "Documentation Project". The next page has, on
the left side, Project tools section. Click on Membership. Actually
you can see the list without registering or logging in. If you wish
to join then log in and you will see "Request project role" above the
list. Click the link and follow the instructions. You will get an
email letting you know that your have been accepted and given the
Observer role.
I am not sure how one goes about getting other role but that is all
you need to access the system.
