3) Can we add bookmarks to the PDF files or make the TOC
hyperlinked?

Yes, for the "final" version I'll do that. I didn't this time
because to have bookmarks, I need to create the PDF from
OOo1.9.X, which has some problems with our files. Most of these
problems can be solved by making changes in the files, and I'm
working on identifying and fixing those. For example, many (most)
callouts or other OOo drawing objects (lines, circles, etc) added
to screen captures move away from their intended location, or go
behind the screen capture; the cure for this is to put the screen
capture and all the associated callouts or drawing objects into
OOoDraw or GIMP or some other package, group them, and save or
export them as one graphic.

It would be better to find another work-around, because "clear" screen captures with added text as explanations are much easier to translate than "one graphic", which involves editing that graphic, eventually re-capturing and re-commenting the picture.

I think that won't be too big of a problem for two reasons:

1) For this guide, you will still have all of the source files in .sxw format. Only the chapter put out .odt format will have the new on graphic screen shots.

2) Once we fully transition to 2.0, the callouts will still be done the old way so there won't be a problem there.

Does this make sense.
