Hello,
Linda suggested that the search and external links don't belong on the
front page. To help people compare, I have two pages:
http://new.scipy.org:9080/oocommunity/front.html
http://new.scipy.org:9080/oocommunity/front2.html
The first one has a search box and links on the left. The second has no
search box and links at the bottom. And you can easily imagine what it'd
look without any links.
What do you prefer? Should I remove the bottom links too? Linda has a
good point that they don't really belong on the front page. At least,
not this type of front page. But some people feel that the page looks
empty.
Ideas? Suggestions?
Daniel.
What is the objective of the first page? What do you want to happen
when someone arrives at the first page?
If it is for the casual person, that is one thing, if it is for an
authour, an other thing.
Personally, I like the first one with an addition of a site map.
The second page you forgot "Get OOo" (Please change to download OOo)
(As I am one of the few who detest the over use of 'getting' 'get' and
'got' in our language.) When you seriously thing of it what does, "I got
a book" really mean?
