Yet here you are pushing for a front page for Authors that has major usability problems, and you seem to be totally unaware of that.

Listen, there's no need to treat me like I don't give a hoot about the page visitor. I've been working day and night all week and I've made every effort to make this page usable. I don't see YOU proposing a lot of page designs. When I participated in the OOo front page discussion I made several specific page samples and I discussed pros and cons with *specifity* instead of just saying "this is crap, you don't care about usability" and not explaining what's wrong or offering a solution.

I felt that this page ranked very high on usability. Quoting the same book you listed, "it doesn't matter how many clicks I have to make as long as each one is simple and mindless". You reach a page that had language links. It's obvisous what to do with it, because the page doesn't let you do much with it. You just click on a language you understand. When you see a page with nothing but an "Enter" link, you know what to click on. And you seem to forget that the people with graphics off is a very small proportion of page visitors. I have paid attention to alt fields to make sure that blind people on screen readers can access the page. But you are still convinced that I haven't paid attention to usability, but of course you don't offer any alternatives. It's easy to sit on the sideline and shoot down ideas. It's hard to make pages and propose them as alternatives. I've spent countless hours doing this, and I've tried very hard to satisfy everyone.

Daniel.
