I've just uploaded to the Lulu website (where the printed copies of
our books are available) the second edition of "Getting Started with
OOo2.0", which has been updated for 2.0.2 and now includes 3 more
chapters and an index!
http://www.lulu.com/content/177729
The free PDF on the OOoAuthors and Docs websites has the same updated
content (plus the Macros chapter), but no index yet. I hope to get
that done sometime in the next week. Then everyone can usability test
the index. ;-)
I forgot to mention that I have put a PDF of the book (reformatted as
6"x9" for Lulu) is on the OOoAuthors website,
http://oooauthors.org/en/authors/userguide2/gettingstarted/published_final/0100GS-6x9-GettingStarted-2edn.pdf
This one is identical to the Lulu book but without the front and back
covers of the printed book.
I'm considering replacing the PDF formatted for full-size paper (the one
that's on the Docs site as well as ours) with this one, instead of
trying to fix the full-size one. What do you think? Is that a good, bad,
or indifferent idea? It means less work for me, but OTOH it won't be
updated every time we revise a chapter.
Cheers, Jean
I have found that I am unable to find 6*9 paper.
Just a thought on having the format so that each chapter comes out of
the printer separately (so plug ups donot ruin the whole book) and that
I can use regular 8.5*11 paper with 2 pages on one side and 2 on the
other, fold and viola a booklet.
