as far, as I know, this feature was first included in 2.0.4. :)
I'm not sure, but I thought, that the default setting for the update
check is to be disabled (there are people, that don't want their
software to "call home") :)
And other people set it to check only every week, or every month
(I forget the choices). And of course if someone doesn't happen
to open OOo for awhile, they won't see the alert. ;-)
Anyway, the point of my note was as much to remind people to look
for, and let the rest of us know, about changes that affect our
books, as it was to tell y'all that there was an update. :-)
