I am not sure I agree with that. There were two examples of nested lists in chapter 7, one was rather basic and did not require knowledge of styles, this is why I moved it to chapter 3. The other thing I moved was the default tab stops settings. As tab stops are described in chapter 3 and the procedure for setting default tab stops is independent of styles I though it was a good idea to move it there. > BOTOH, not everyone reads that way and, > instead, may use a guide only as a reference and, therefore, much of the > order of topics may not be important. I do not find filtering too difficult to grasp and I think it makes sense to cover all the usage of the styles and formatting window in the same place. In my experience, the User Guide will be mostly used as a reference book, therefore I see a big value in terms of usability in covering as much as possible of a subject within a section and reference to other chapters only if needed (this is the same principle I adopted for consolidating the page numbering section. > As to conditional usage, I see no harm in covering that also in chapter 7, > instead of chapter 6, but not omitting it entirely. The only reason why I did not leave the conditional styles in chapter 7 was to avoid making that chapter even longer than what it is now, but I would have left it in chapter 7 otherwise. > The keyboard shortcuts also could be included in an appendix for the > appropriate > chapter(s). Regarding the keyboard shortcuts for styles, I think it belongs to chapter 6 as this is the chapter that discusses how to apply styles. An annex would be good (see below). > > Various texts may employ separate appendices at the end of some > individual chapters.
