First a (late) happy New Year to everyone.

Perhaps I am the least suitable person to intervene but as a novice in OOo and currently meeting with a group of (totally) novice computer users (some still having trouble to drag and drop) maybe my opinion will be of some value. After reading the arguments so far I think that Michele's approach is better suited to the needs of novices but it also has merits for more experienced people who either don't want to bother too much to get into the details or already know the basics and want to learn more advanced stuff without going through the basics as well. Also I would like to point out that few people (at least worikng parents) have the time to read manuals start-to-fnish but rather look for "topics" the moment they want to use a specific (ie advanced) feature of an application. So, I personally don't sse anything wrong in having almost the same kind of info at various related points through the guides as users many times don't know (and I don't think they want to know) where technically a piece of info belongs. Sorry for the long post I hope I provided some useful thoughts. Hope to join you more actively when I finish some (actually a lot) translation work for Greek OOo Guides. Michael
