Thanks for the help!  I have the Style Guide now and am studying it.
After I feel a bit more comfortable with it, I'll work on taking the
next baby step.

I do not recall updating it after I edited it back in mid 2006. It was 
somewhat elderly even then.

It was fairly boilerplate advice with a little specific material added. 
I might have a copy somewhere.

For example it contained such advice as: don't use such terms or words 
as etc, i.e., e.g., due to diversity reasons, ETC.

Many style guides available online for general or specific company use 
have much the same advice as ours.
