Hi Jean, sorry for the late post, but I was afk. At first, please stop creating new rules, there is no reason for it. For example, there was a rule 'contributor' with nearly the same rights...
Keep in mind, that the existing work flow is designed basing on the existing rules. You have to change the work flow for new rules... The construct of the old user management on the old site was the result of the ugly and non working work flow on the old instance. We do not needs more than for rules: Manager - The ones who are able to manage site and users Contributors - The ones who write or translate documentations Reviewer - The ones who review documents for the later editing Editors - The ones who are able to publish the final documents. All tasks can be built on this rules, because You can assign to or more rules to a person ;-) And yes there are more than these rules be default, but we can ignore it :-) Ans Yes its a fault, that visitors without member right could not see the site content. That's why only external published content will be visible for the public. We have to set this state for the needed pages as Andreas said it... Btw. All users I've got from Jean can use there old passwords on the new site. Thats the reason why no password messages were send to this members. ghrt, please try it again :-) Kind regards Marko Jean Hollis Weber schrieb: > Earlier, I wrote: > >> Where can I find what permissions the Editor role, the Reviewer role, >> and the other roles have? > > I found it!! > /manage_access > > I have now created an Author role, with (I hope!) relevant permissions. > I have assigned people to the Author role (those that are not managers > or listed as non-Author for testing purposes). > > Let's see whether Gary, Andy, and Janet can access the site now and do > useful things like view, download, and upload. > > --Jean > >
