True, the old ones work. And as Jean pointed out, the two different templates were designed to show the level 1 that was significant for their scope. However, try changing what is at level 1 for the book? Assume for a moment that you needed to change it from OOoHeading 0 to XYZ. In 3.0, this was not a problem. In 3.1 I'm stuck. Of course, since the templates work, it can be ignored for now. I was just curious what happen to the ... after Outline in ToC which gave you the ability to work with the levels without the apparent problems I've been having. Anthony
