Why don't you just redesign UNIX while you're at it? The Solaris C library probably has routines that allow daemons to use the name service switch in an intelligent manner. Obviously, adding your own parse code is silly. There should be integration with system libraries. -- Scott McDermott, Questra Desktop and Network Services (QDN) (716) 381-0292 x525 QDN service via web: http://qweb.web.roc.questra.com/srs/ QDN service via email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
