I missed it too.

It happened a long time ago. For things that were released, we couldn't
just change packages. That would be detrimental.

However, for new stuff, org.apache.${project-name} was decided because it
was smaller and easier to type.

Isn't there a risk of naming conflict with other Apache projects ? Or do you consider that Excalibur has sufficient visibility for other projects not to use it ?
