A call for community help. We are organizing the new Avalon web site, and we need some more eyes to help point out bad links, etc. Also give a huge hand to Leo Simmons for taking on the burden. I am forwarding his update from the developer's list.

available on http://avalon.apache.org/ right now:
- general project info, including updated info on authors and committers, project organisation, cvs, and the old history stuff which was not linked to for a long time
- api docs for nearly everything, from cvs head
- phoenix docs from cvs head
- logkit docs from cvs head
- excalibur docs from cvs head, hand-modified (hacked!) to not have dozens of images/ and skin/ dirs for each subsubsubprojects
- cornerstone docs from cvs head
- logkit docs from cvs head
- apps docs from cvs head
- old (well the one currenlty on the jakarta/avalon site as well) version of Developing with Avalon
- beginning of some site restructuring to clear up the container and component confusion (ie the SECA link)
some TTD:
- setup mirroring, setup cgi scripts to point at downloads (ie like @ ant.apache.org)
- remove our custom cocoon version everywhere, in favour of forrest
- add docs for avalon-sandbox, fix broken links to projects moved there (mainly from the excalibur project docs)
- move docs on cvs, mailing list, etc, somewhere else (www.apache.org/dev/)
- re-gen docs using newest forrest
- setup apidocs to reference those created by gump on nagoya
- convert and update developing with avalon
- clean up the avalon-apps docs
- remove the "shaping up" notions
- setup redirects in .htaccess from the jakarta site to the new site
- clean up cvs (move framework-forrest docs from proposal/ to src/ for example)
- proofread, update where neccessary
- set up status/changes docs again
- more docs on lots of packages :D
- more docs on releases, roadmap, etc
- avalon product table
- add pictures, links to blogs, and some fun content to the whoweare docs
maybe-someday-TTD:
- convert anakia docs to forrest
- change stylesheet
- change or update logo
Dear user peeps, if you feel the itch to contribute, a nice contribution right now would be to do proofreading and checking for bad links on the avalon.apache.org website. Here's some pointers if you feel like helping:
