A call for community help. We are organizing the new Avalon web site,
and we need some more eyes to help point out bad links, etc. Also give
a huge hand to Leo Simmons for taking on the burden. I am forwarding
his update from the developer's list.
I offer to proof-read for typos, if you send me documents I will send
them back with my changes marked, so someone else can review them (as
English is not my first language). That other person would then only
have to go through the documents looking for a certain string (say: +++)
and be done with the review quickly.
Optionally I can also parse semantically and add a "huh?? I don't get
this?!?" as appropriate, but this would involve more work on the part of
the reviewer and probably some discretion as to which documents are
ready for prime-time yet :)
As to bad links, I can run a linkchecker from my crontab and send the
results, if you like. But I thought Apache would have such a thing anyway.
The site is up and running at:
http://avalon.apache.org/
If Apache has a "bad link checker", then we need to check with
infrastructure to be automatically nagged when there is a bad link on
the site.
If you would rather work with CVS and its diff functionality, then
the appropriate module is "jakarta-avalon-site".
