@martinillo For determining if an object is in front or in back of a certain area, there's the old glory of the half plane test. Pretty much you'll need to determine what axis you're going to use for the split, x, y, or z, and should there be rotations in your model rotate it by the transform. Afterward, you'll need a second vector pointing from your camera to the object, and dot these two vectors together. If the dot is less then 0 the object is behind the plane otherwise its in-front of the plane.
