know how it turns out.

It's working fine for me - the options don't load correctly but, it
exports with one click. I do have to change sides = 0 because it's
doing bothsides. No other complaints. The download is from the tweet
on 4.19 - the direct link ishttp://bit.ly/9pOP1m

May be we should wait for a few month for 2011 version.

Right - the 2010 version doesn't work with maya 2011. I can't tell you exactly - I'm away from my dev machine but, the download was from
somewhere onhttp://www.twitter.com/openCollada. There was no
installer, just had to place the 2 Mel files and mll correctly. Sorry I can't tell you the paths from memory. If it doesn't work, let me
know and I'll post more info tomorrow.

Hi there,

Just a query about Maya 2010 / 2011, do you have a collada exporter
for
Maya 2011, the one you can download for 2010 does not work for
2011??
If so
could you post your recompile instructions or even better post a
zip of
the
plugin itself?

many thanks

I can't speak for Max but, I've had great luck with OpenCollada for Maya - 2010 and 2011. I always have to reapply textures in prefab
and
away but, the geometry is good.

From what I'm reading around here, I need to use a COLLADA
plugin
to
export my models in DAE format from 3ds max 2010, like
opencollada
or
colladamax. Why is that? Is it a problem with the native
COLLADA
export from 3dsmax 2010? Is it a shortcoming of away3d that
the
native export is not handled? I just want to be clear, as I
was
very
confused when I tried to export a simple model as a DAE and it
didn't
work in away3d, although the 3DS export of the same model DID
work.

Also, if I was to choose a COLLADA plugin for Max, which one
have
you
guys used and which ones do you like? What are some of the
limitations of your choice? Thanks alot.
