The way you have it built now, would work OK in anything other than the
current flash 3d engines, because of all the Z sort needed.

You might want to try the INTERSECTING_OBJECTS renderer, but that might slow
your project to a near grinding halt :/

Your best bet would be to check out using BSP and prefab, it is sort of
meant for this kind of project.
