Eliseu, My Vasconcelos family is from the Island of Flores, probably via Terceira and Madeira. The first Vasconcelos settler on Flores was Ascenco Mendes de Vasconcellos( b. Praia, Terceira), whose wife was Beatriz Pimentel Homen and a descendant of Martim Mendes de Vasconcellos of Madeira. Unfortunately, Flores church records before the late 1600's are lost so I'll probably never be able to document a connection. However, I have been able to document a Vasconcelos/Pimentel connection in the late 1600's, So I would bet that I connect to the first Vasconcelos settlers. John Vasconcelos
