I have some additional details that I should have added earlier. I have a Abel S. Freitas sailing on the S.S. Cretic from St. Michaels on March 22,1909. He was headed to Taunton Ma. My Aunt was born around 1913 in the USA. The family returned to St. Jorge and my Mother was born there in Oct. of 1915. They returned to the USA and settled in the Westerly RI. and Pawcatuck CT area. (the towns border each other on the Pawcatuck River). I think my mom had a cousin in the San Diego area. LL
