Hi all, Haven't been actively doing research since I've had computer problems to attend to. Those out of the way (with nothing lost!!) I was trying to do some research into the passport records.
ANTONIO RODRIGUES CARDIN or possibly ANTONIO RODRIGUES came from Flores to the USA in 1882. I currently do not have their immigration information pinned down, but have that year from the US Census. Recently one of my cousins was using an Ancestry.com trial membership and came up with a tailer with the latter of the two names listed above that came in through NYC. Unfortunately, I can't read the information on the ship manifest to see what year it was, nor how old he was at that time. It does show him as being a tailor by occupation and that the ship came from San Miguel. Would most people from Flores and Corvo have come through San Miguel, rather than Faial or Terceira? My Antonio was born in Fazenda, October 6, 1862, according to an entry in "Familias das Flores." His wife Maria Incarnation Freitas, also of Flores. The census indicated she came in 1882 as well. However, she was not listed on the immigration record I mentioned above. Thanks for any help!!
