Thanks Mary for my first clue! I've looked through all the online records for my grandmother but I'll go and have another look in Rosais.....for awhile in my search I was looking for Enos since that's the name she came into the states with......interesting to me that she left the Azores Rosa Francesca Lemos and became Frances Rose Enos once she arrived in New Bedford! The home is that of my Ggrandmother Francisca Rosa Lemos, born around 1869. I have no idea which village this is and hope that someone on the list might recognize the church in the background. I want to say Rosais because the setting looks similar and so does the church Nossa Senhora do Rosario). I haven't located any pictures to confirm that yet but will see if I can.
