I have a photo of it and when I was there in 2006, they told me the "tower" used to be on the other side but was destroyed in an earthquake. When they rebuilt, the tower was put on the side opposite of your photo. I may have an old photo of the old church that was taken from the same position in order to compare them. The home is that of my Ggrandmother Francisca Rosa Lemos, born around 1869. I have no idea which village this is and hope that someone on the list might recognize the church in the background.
