There was an English translation of Volume IV, Book 1, by Edna Phillips Kerns; I do not know if it is still available. The translation might be considered amaturish or worse by some, but it is the only English translation ever made available and is invaluable to people searching for S. Miguel ancestors. The best history of the Azores in English is still the book by the late james Guill. (Guill, James H. A History of the Azores. Golden Shield International, Tulare: 1993.)
