Good morning, Ms. Marie. I was so excited and hopeful by your email. My father, a sort of sneaky devil, and his family are De Lima, and Lima, but he decided that he did not want to pay the hospital bill when I was born, and so he purposely exchanged the "i" in his name to an "e" and therefore as far as I know myself and my brother are the only modern day Lemas off the De Lima and Lima lineage.
I have an account with Ancestry.com and am willing to share and give you access to the information I have on my family if you would send me your email addy to my personal email addy [email protected], that way I can send the invitation staight from ancestry. I do know that my Silveiras were once D'Silveira De Andrade, connected with Sequeira, Olveiras (i cant remember the correct spelling off hand), Cabral, Cabrahol, Pereira, Soares, De Costa. Then my ggg grandfather somehow lost the De Andrade and just went by De Silveira, then later Silvera( in Hawaii). His daughter, married into the De Lima family and the offspring THAT union married into the Costa, Crua, Medeiros, Reposa(Rapoza) etc. Like I said, it would be a whole lot easier just to send you an invitation to my site.I hope I have not confused you.Have a great day. From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Lisa I have a Francisca De Andrade (b about 1710), wife of Jose de Mello, had a son named Antonio de Mello born about 1734. I believe Francisca De Andrede was from Santa Maria. Any connection? Your last name, Lema, is it pronounced like Lima in Peru. That's also my husband's last name and I was wondering if someone changed the Li to LE in Lima? My humble opinion is that many of these people with the names you mention married. It seemed common for cousins to marry in my husband's line. I have Da Silva's marrying Silveira's. I'll be looking for better explanations than mine here. Sorry I'm not much help but thought maybe there was a connection. I have seen Da Silveira De Andrade(mine),Costa De Andrade, Olveira De Silveira, De Costa Silveira, Just De Andrade, just Silveira etc. I am confused. Is the Silveira and Andrade such common last names, such as "smith" and combined with so many different other names as say "johnson(maiden name) smith" or are the two names related to these other combinations I have found them in? I am confused. Thank you -- regards, Maria Elena --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected].
