Hi Robin,
Your son "ran with the Bulls" and my husband ran from the bulls. He went to
get a beer and on his way back to where we were standing , the bulls started
coming down the street, He ran like heck, jumped the fence and never spilled a
drop of his beer. Scared him though!

I 'm glad you found the connection. I have it this way, Tell me if you agree

your Grandfather Lawrence Borba b. 19222
your Ggrandfather Antonio da Rocha Borba married to Mary Matos of Sao Jorge
island
your GG b. 1850 Jose da Rocha da Borba married to Anna Furtado
Jorge do Souto Salas, Faial
your GGG b. 1825 Jose da Rocha da Borba married to Custodia Candida
your GGGG abt. 1788 Francisco da Rocha da Borba married to Ana Theodora m
1813
your GGGGG a. 1760 Jose da Rocha Borba married to Marianna Josefa
(couldn't find the marriage)

 b. 1685 Joseph da Rocha Borba m.1716 (Agueda do Espirto Santo (2) Luzia
Josefa m.1735
 b. a. 1650 Josepha da Rocha m. 1679 to Maria da Borba Vieira
                 Bras Gil m. Catarina da Roch;

Note: Joseph da Rocha Borba and Agueda do E.S. had only 2 children that I could
find. Joseph b. July 1, 1722 and Marianna b. Jan 18, 1727. Agueda died in 1730.
Maybe this Joseph is one of the missing grandparent. I think there are two
missing generations.

Good luck
Helen

Helen,

I've found a connection to your husband and my side of the Borba's.

I'm back working on a project for work this afternoon, so I'll post later
tonight. It appears that the translation of the record is what stumpped me and
had me confused with who was who and who was a child or so-and-so. In
addition, I did find the marriage record on page 45 on the right hand side of
the page. I've found another da Rocha de Borba that I'll post later to see if
you have it as well.

There were some Borba's in the village of San Bento, Terceira when we visited
the island when our son "Ran with the Bulls!" Not sure if there was or is a
connection to any of them as of yet.

My best to you,

Robin Borba Besotes
