Does anyone have info on ANTONIO JOSÉ JORGE and his wife ANNA LUÍZA of Ponta da Fajã Grande das Flores? They had (at least) two children who immigrated to Northern California, Frank A. George (b. ca. 1848, presumably as FRANCISCO JORGE ) and ISABEL THOMAZIA (b. ca. 1854).
In addition, I have over old letters to Isabel in Portuguese from two nieces and a nephew of hers who stayed behind in Ponta da Fajã Grande: 7 are signed by MARIA MATEUS (or Matheus) SILVEIRA (1913-1938); 8 are signed by ANA FLORIPES (or Floripe or Fluripas) DA SILVEIRA (7 between 1917-1926, plus 1 undated); and, 1 is signed by MANUEL LUÍZ FURTADO (1936). Additionally, I have an undated letter from JOSÉ ANTÓNIO VALADÃO (possibly from Flores) and a 1921 letter from ISABEL FURTADO in Oakland, California.
