I agree. I'll keep it in mind in case the Urzelina connection ever comes up.

Hi Rosemarie,
I don't have any record of these Cabral de Melo's going to Urzelina, Sao
Jorge. I only have one Domingos Cabral de Melo in my file right now and he
was born in 1724, son of Maria Cabral de Melo and Domingos Furtado.

Did any of these Cabral Mello's migrate to Urzelina, Sao Jorge? My 6th great
grandpa is Domingos Cabral Mello b about 1693, Urzelina, Sao Jorge. Of course
there are no records for the births or marriages of Urzelina in the time
period I need. His wife is Antonia de Jesus b about 1698 in Santo Amaro, Sao
Jorge. Their first child b 13 Jun 1728, Antonio Cabral Mello who married Dona
Maria Bettencourt in 1753, Urzelina.

OK, even Canto in the late 1800s and Rodrigo Rodrigues in 1929 had a hard
time with these records. They were deteriorating then.

Dec 1691 (that's all that can be read), a Manoel (surname unreadable), son
of an unreadable da Costa(?), deceased, and Barbara Correia of Nordestinho
married a Maria Cabral, daughter of a Caligto de (Macads) and a (Ursula)
Furtada.

That's the earliest I can find. The Nordestinho marriages start 1700s. So
if Barbara married where she was from, you won't find the marriage in the
film. That is, if it's the right Barbara.
