You will have to be careful about linking all the Cabral de Mello's,
especially if they are from different villages. I checked all these
out a few years ago, and António Cabral and Barbara Correia are the
end of the line as far as Achada goes. The Cabral de Mello line may
indeed be linked to the older Cabal de Melo line in Nordeste, but
there is no proof of this. Even if the citation of Maria Correia
proves to be Barbara Correia, you are no further ahead, except that
you have linked one more family to a known common ancestor. For more
possible connections you will have to research the more dfficult civil
and property records, the notarios, and hope to find a reference to
this couple. Neither Rodtrigues nor Canto mentioned one, and Rodrigues
in particular read al those notarios and that is  why he regarded as
great researcher. He tried to turn over all the stones.

Maybe I have forgotten Cheri, are you saying your Melo line goes back
to this Achada line?
