Hi hi hi! Writing from Alaska with a general question: I am
researching my husband's grandparents' lives and emigration from the
Azores. I see the post regarding baptismal records and am wondering if
these have been compiled somewhere online? Or are people providing
these from family records and scanning them in, for individual input?
In our case, we have two handwritten birth records which I've tried to
translate using the online sites, to little avail. I am overwhelmed
but energized to find all of you! The towns I am focused on are Praia
de Vitoria and Ribeirinha, surnames Borges and Voz Toste respectively.
They both departed in 1917-1920 and married in California. I'm also
coming to a dead end when looking online for marriage records. Hoping
to contact all of the Catholic Churches in the county which were there
in that era, maybe that's a start? Thank you for any leads. My
thoughts are scattered and I am a beginner, so I apologize for being
all over the ... map. ; )
