My Great Grandmothers name was Mary Henriques. Henriques is her maiden name according to my grandmothers social security application. She was born in approx. 1840 according to her death certificate. She died in 1923 in Butte County. Now her sister Rosa is using the maiden name of Bettencourt. But on her death certificate her father and mothers last names are Silvester and Silviera. So I don't know if Bettencourt is a married name if she was married when she had her 1st child in 1878 in Sao Jorge?
