Yes check churches in the town they were from. I wrote to a church in San Francisco once for a marriage in 1874 and they had the record with the parents name. It was a Catholic church though, really haven't done any research on any other churches in different religions. Have you checked the Dawes rolls? I don't remember exactly what is on them, its been too long ago when I was trying to find an ancestor who was half Indian.
