Terri ~ Patsy and I had the same situation, where someone turned a branch and replanted it on their tree. It wasn't so much that the names were now attached to the wrong tree, but we felt so violated that both our Grandfather's pictures were stolen. This idiot could not even attached the info correctly. My Father was now married to his sister. Both of us wrote her. Patsy, being a kind person, even went so far as to research out their proper line and show how the two families were NOT related. But the fact that the pictures were not being removed was wrong. Besides posting a comment at the bottom of the page, there is also an area below the picture to write a comment. I am not a program writer, so I don't know the difficulty for Ancestry to have a program that would allow others to read the information, or see a picture, but have to write for permission of the tree owner to share that information. Wishful thinking. AVA Vieira Anselmo ~ Sao Miguel In a message dated 11/15/2012 11:13:25 P.M. Mountain Standard Time, [email protected] writes:
Thanks everyone....Yes I did leave a comment back on October 12th. Your right...if someone looks up their tree , hopefully they'll see my comment and think twice before linking themselves to this persons info. And Mary, like you....I think what bothers me most is that they are also using my Grandfathers picture as their own and there isn't anything I can do about that. Looking at her tree and the 'hint' leaves that are flashing...i got curious to see what else they may have online about him. Someone unknown to us is using my grandfathers picture, his name and my grandmothers name on their own tree. This person on Ancestory has my grandfather being buried in California when he's actually buried here in Canada. They also have him married to a second woman and that just is WRONG!!! I've already wrote to this person twice but they've never replied. Any suggestions on what else I could do to make sure the wrong info isn't out there about my family?
