There is a helpful thing on Ancestry, when you first log on ~ where it
shows others who may be searching the ancestor that you are looking for, what
they have added to their tree, be it pictures, docs, or census records. If
you want to click on their tree to see what was added you can. Some of
these tree owners I have never heard of before, so it's not someone who I have
 spoken with in the passed.

Ancestry is there to make money, and the more hints that they are able to
share with you, the happier the world on Ancestry can be. Except when you
are dealing with people who want to collect as many relatives as possible.

I wonder if anyone from Ancestry monitors trees for validity.

And before anyone confesses too much, remember we are on a web site, and
everything that is said on the web ~ STAYS ON THE WEB ~ FOREVER.

About the pictures...Most pictures you can right click your mouse button
and choose "Save Picture As.." and capture the photo that way. I've had my
pictures from Find A Grave show up on Ancestry. No one ever asks. I
always ask, unless there's a disclaimer already there that says to go ahead
and
use the photo. Besides, asking probably means I'm talking to a cousin.
Heck, I even asked JR for one of his scenic pictures to use on the cover of
one of our scores in band. His name is credited as the photographer, even
though only only future band directors will see it.

The only place my tree can be found is on Family Tree DNA and the only
people who can see it are those who have taken a DNA test and are matches.
However, I've always kind of wondered about being a bit devious (if I had the
time) and putting a tree out there...complete with Ozzie and Harriet
Nelson, Ward and June Cleaver, George and Martha Washington, and Fred and
Wilma
Flintstone as my relatives. I wondered how many people who would blindly
copy it. Heck for that matter, if I attach a picture of Barbara Billingsley
(actress who played June Cleaver) to my grandmother, I wonder how many
people would copy that!

Hope I just made someone's Friday brighter!
