Hello,

I almost forgot, I wanted to comment on the use of Brilhante. I have quite
a few baptism records for this family, but I the first I see a reference to
Brilhante is the marriage between Joao Pereira and Alexandrina,
07/20/1838, her father is listed as Antonio de Medeiros Brilhante. I do
not see it's use before this, even with Antonio's own baptism and marriage,
but, I see it's subsequent use in his children and great-grandchildren.
I'm very curious to how this name came about. I really like unique family
history stories. With my own family, the use of a middle name of Tavares
is prevalent, every child of my 2nd great grandfather has Tavares as a
middle name, and their children as well. Maybe one day (when the Ribeira
Grande records are posted on CCA) I will gain some insight as to when the
name was first used.
