Hello,

I have worked and strained my eyes for the last week to read through the
1690-1728 marriages of Achada Grande, Nordeste. But, I have not found the
marriage of Manuel da Silva and Jozefa ?Leira?. I'm aware there are a few
indexes that were completed in the 1800's and early 1900's, Ernest Canto
among others. Our group here has had a few posts about the indexes.

I'll get to the point...If anyone has access to the Canto's index and can
give me information on marriage of Manuel da Silva and Jozefa Leira?.
Manuel and Jozefa have children born in the 1720's and early 1730's, so I
know they're married and I know it's in the 1690 to 1728 record book.

I plan on working to make a copy of Canto's index when I visit the Azores;
and will kindly repay your helpfulness by helping other people find and
extend their family trees, or quid pro quo.

Here is a little background....I have the family info, but can't go beyond
Manuel and Jozefa....due to deteiorated records

*Manuel da Silva m. Jozefa Leira*? *date unknown*

*son*

Joao da Silva m. Engralia Furtado de Sousa 01/21/1759 never seen the
name Engralia, I thought for sure it may have been Engrasia, a derivative
of Ignacia, but her baptism clearly reads Engralia, even after accouting
for the strange shaped 'S' of 1700 & 1800's Azores.

*son*

Francisco da Silva married Maria de Resendes Pimentel 04/08/1799

*son*

Manuel da Silva m. Maria Francisca de Faria 07/05/1841.

The Manuel I'm interested would have married sometime between 1715 to 1728

Thank you very much.
