JR I remember from my earliest days on this site that we share common Cabral ancestors. Did you notice on the record Pam sent that the father's name appears to be Soeiro, instead of Soares. I know that sometimes Portuguese people do this with names, such as when for a female the name Brandao becomes Brandoa or Rapozo becomes Rapoza. You don't see it too much for males though.
Anyway for this particular line, Pedor Cabral had a son named Jose, who married a Barbara Pimentel. They had a son named Manuel Medeiros ( where Medeiros name came from I have no idea). He was the father of my gg grandmother Emia Amalia da Conceicao Medeiros who married Joao Jacinto Brandao b.12 Aug 1855.
