Yes I am related to them. So far I am related to the melo line. I will send you an invitation to my tree and then you will look whom you think it may help you. I have around 17000 people mostly from S. Miguel Island. I also have collected all the Porto Formoso Marriages though I have not been able to add them all to my research.
Please be aware of my data because some mistakes may exist. I use that web site as my storehouse. Even so I always try to doublecheck my research! Of course I am interested in whatever you may give me!!! :) (and eager to it) PS – I do not know who I am talking to :) (means i do not know your name!) Francisco was from Povocao and Josefa from Porto Formosa. I have the marriage, but I didn't have Francisco's birthdate. Thanks for that! Josefa de Mello is the beginning of my de Mello line in Maia. You are correct about this line connecting to Craig Cameron Mello. His family was one of the one the de Mello Castanho's that immigrated to the East Coast. I had originally missed this family in research because his ancestor Eugenio de Mello (aka Mello Castanho) had been listed for a passport to Hawaii. I spent years trying to find them in the records in Hawaii. Then, when the passports came online, I found that they never went to Hawaii. A couple of years later there was another passport for Massachusetts. Craig descends from Antonio de Mello. I descend from Antonio's brother Felicianno Francisco de Mello and his wife, Rosa Jacintha Botelho (my 3rd great grandparents--this line then connects to the de Braga's) Are you related to Francisco Luis de Medeiros and Josefa de Mello? I've got quite a bit of information on the descendants of this line in the Azores, Hawaii, and the East Coast.
