The Damião de Braga I have is from Fenais da Ajuda. I am related to him very
distantly :)

Eliseu,

Another cousin, yeah!!!! I will look over your data more later (time for
Jeopardy). But, I clicked on your link to your tree and saw the name Damiao de
Braga. Are you related to him? He is my ancestor as well. I have information
on him in Maia and Achada.

More later when I can review your notes.

Yes I am related to them. So far I am related to the melo line. I will send you
an invitation to my tree and then you will look whom you think it may help you.
I have around 17000 people mostly from S. Miguel Island. I also have collected
all the Porto Formoso Marriages though I have not been able to add them all to
my research.

Please be aware of my data because some mistakes may exist. I use that web site
as my storehouse. Even so I always try to doublecheck my research!

Of course I am interested in whatever you may give me!!! :) (and eager to it)

PS – I do not know who I am talking to :) (means i do not know your name!)

Eliseu,

Yes, that is correct. Francisco was from Povocao and Josefa from Porto
Formosa. I have the marriage, but I didn't have Francisco's birthdate. Thanks
for that! Josefa de Mello is the beginning of my de Mello line in Maia.

You are correct about this line connecting to Craig Cameron Mello. His family
was one of the one the de Mello Castanho's that immigrated to the East Coast.
I had originally missed this family in research because his ancestor Eugenio de
Mello (aka Mello Castanho) had been listed for a passport to Hawaii. I spent
years trying to find them in the records in Hawaii. Then, when the passports
came online, I found that they never went to Hawaii. A couple of years later
there was another passport for Massachusetts. Craig descends from Antonio de
Mello. I descend from Antonio's brother Felicianno Francisco de Mello and his
wife, Rosa Jacintha Botelho (my 3rd great grandparents--this line then connects
to the de Braga's)

Are you related to Francisco Luis de Medeiros and Josefa de Mello? I've got
quite a bit of information on the descendants of this line in the Azores,
Hawaii, and the East Coast.

Hi,

I have the marriage of Francisco Luís de Medeiros to Josefa Pacheco or Josefa
de Melo. They married in Porto Formoso 16.5.1765. He is said to have been born
at Povoação in 13.12.1739. This is the family of the Nobel Prize Craig Cameron
Mello from Maia, Ribeira Grande…
