Joao do Rego Baldaia and Maria de Sao Jose are my 6th Great Grandparents. Manuel da Silva Tavares and Rosa Jacinta m 8 Dec 1838 in Ribeirinha. The great grandparents of Manuel are Joao and Maria de Sao Jose.
If Joao do Rego Baldaia is the son of Joam do Rego (Rego Baldaia according to CM) and Maria Bicuda (AKA Maria de Sao Jose) then the line goes back to 1380 and Diago Pires do Rego. The CM disk does not have the second marriage of Joao do Rego to Maria Bicudo. He does have one daughter from the first marriage Maria Rosa born about 1753. I am going to have to look for the death of his first wife Isabel da Incarnaciao Paiva and see if the dates line up. From his second marriage I have found two daughters Anna (Anna Felecia do Rego Baldaia) and Joanna (Joanna Baptista do Rego Baldaia). I also find it perplexing that your ancestors did not use the more illustrious name of Bicudo. If have that Bicudo usage later on, that's a pretty good evidence.
