Yes, you are correct. New researchers have found the same type of Portuguese J1-M365 in Viana do Castelo. I think we can find other types from the Minho in the Azores. We need more people to be tested and detect the modal haplotypes and the SNPs !

Thanks Ricardo, Barcelos is a city where I've had my eye on for over a year now as being a significant source of settlers to Pico island along with Porto and Viana do Castelo just my gut and looking at various things. Would have been a significant population center during the time of settlement. The collecting of settlers I think would have been done along the rivers on small boats, Barcelos is near the Cavado river very convenient for recruitment.
