Before 1703 the records for Bretanha no longer exist. All that we have is an index, with many gaps, put together by a vicar in 1723, of the deteriorating registers he found in Bretanha when he arrived. Many records had already been lost, some were partially obliterated, and as I said, there were many gaps. I have had some luck connecting many lines back to the 16th century using that index, but I also have my share of Bretanha dead ends.
