Hello, to all of the people who are using Family Tree Maker, I have used it for many years and just recently learned of something in the program that usually fixes any of the glitches it has. Also, on Facebook they have a Family Tree Maker page that gives advice and also updates to it.
This is the thing that you should do often with the FTM program. Under the TOOLS pull down menu, there is a COMPACT FILE. You should compact the file if the program crashes, or if you are having issues with uploading it to Ancestry. Or just as a good thing to do. When you compact the file, it will give you a % of space it compacted. It should compact to 0.0%. You may have to compact the file a couple of times. Even though I compact all the time now, I usually have to do it 2 times before I get it 0.0%.
